English Wine Week runs from the 27th May until the 4th June 2017.
As if any encouragement were needed to try some! Anyhow, it's a national campaign which aims to raise awareness of English wine. Wine making actually boasts a long history in England in Wales, from pre-Roman Times until the present day. It is growing rapidly in popularity and increasingly recognised as a premium product. Indeed, a £13 bottle of wine made in Norfolk has just been named as the best white wine, made from a single grape variety, in the world by Decanter World Wine Awards 2017.
There are lots of events planned around the country for you to enjoy some lovely English wine, see the website for details: englishwineproducers.co.uk
We have produced a six of the best round up suggestions for you to try. Cheers!
Happy English Wine Week!
