Purple is the new green!
As purple food is set to become a food trend of 2017, we have created a small round-up for you of some fabulous purple food recipes we have found. Why is it set to be a trend and should we take any notice? Well, there are probably a lot of food fads which we could do without, but we can really get behind purple! Besides being such a rich and vibrant colour (and hence totally Instagrammable), they have enormous health benefits too. Nutritionists and scientists alike, agree that purple foods are full of antioxidants which help to protect and heal.
Luckily there is an abundant supply of fruit and vegetables to choose from. To name a few purple vegetables, there are, aubergines, purple cauliflower, purple carrots, purple sprouting broccoli, purple sweet potatoes, purple peppers, purple asparagus, purple cabbage, purple onions, purple sweetcorn and purple kohlrabi. From purple/blue fruits, choose purple grapes, plums, raisins, cherries, blackberries, blueberries, figs and acai berries. They taste good too, what's not to like?!
