Today, Friday the 17th March marks St Patrick's Day! It observes the death of the Patron Saint, Patrick. What was a religious feast day in the 17th Century is now widely celebrated with a wide range of festivities including carnivals and festivals across the globe.
There will be a parade in London's Trafalgar Square alongside many parties and pub events with Guiness being a popular Irish branded drink. Many people celebrate by wearing green clothing and anything to do with a shamrock, the symbol of the Holy Trinity. It is sure to be a time of great celebration as the Irish know how to party!
Happy St Patrick's Day!
