What do you get when you put a crowd of wine enthusiasts and a bunch of exceptional wine producers in a room together? A wonderful wine festival of course!
Honest Grapes are experts at throwing great events and the Wine Festival last week in Soho was no exception! There was an amazing variety on offer from many different countries, including a selection from English producer Exton Park, (their sparkling Rosé was particularly delightful) as well as from further afield, from Europe to Australia and New Zealand. It's a great concept, wine lovers take an empty wine glass and go round each wine producer to get a taste of their offerings and then get the opportunity to buy their favourites, so a try before you buy if you will. With so much variety on offer it is sometimes difficult to know which wines will be to your taste, with so much variety even between years of production and grapes and so on. Sometimes it's only once you taste it that you know with any certainty that you like it. It seems a lot would agree as there was a record breaking turnout for the event! There were also a few tasters from specialist Spanish importers Brindisa, with a delicious ham, amongst a selection of other delightful tapas snacks. In case gin is your tipple, there was also a tasting from Fishers gin, a premium British gin produced using rare foraged ingredients from the Suffolk coast.
