It had to happen. We like drinking. We like gin. A top 10 was always on the cards! It was difficult only choosing 10 though. Making seriously good gin seems to be the new craft! Lucky us! In no particular order:
Sibling gin, as the name suggests, is made by siblings, 4 of them infact. Based in Cheltenham, they have already won many awards, most notably 3 gold stars in the Great Taste Awards this year. Silent Pool, based in the Surrey Hills on the Duke of Northumberland's Albury estate, it is named after the mythical spring fed pool from which it draws it's water. Produced with 24 unique botanicals. Cambridge gin, is in our neck of the woods, so a natural for our feature! That's not the only reason of course! This is the UK's first seasonal gin. It features botanicals grown and foraged in Cambridge from Midsummers Day onwards.
Hepple Gin is a new project which uses an innovative 3 level process for extracting the botanical flavours. Vibrant and intense. Daffy's Gin is made from France's finest grain, distilled on an ancient copper pot whiskey still with Lebanese mint and the finest botanicals to create a perfectly balanced gin. Rock Rose Gin also won a 3 gold star award in the Great Taste Awards this year. It gets its wonderful flavour from a carefully seleceted and put together creation of local and traditional botanicals.
